cuzco  & MACHU  PICCHU (OVERNIGHT)

  Cuzco & Machu Picchu (Overnight) - 5 days / 4 nights (Sundays, Tuesdays & Thursdays) 
 

Day 01. Lima / Cuzco
Upon arrival of your flight in Cuzco, you will be transferred to a local hotel, or restaurant, for a cup of coca tea to help you become acclimated to the altitude. After a short time of rest, depart to the village of Pisac, a Peruvian indigenous and picturesque Andean village where villagers from miles around gather to barter and sell their products such as local ceramics including a huge and varied collection of hand-painted multi-colored beads, necklaces, and stones. After a buffet lunch - included at TUNUPA Restaurant - You will visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo, the only remaining example of pre-Columbian urban planning and original Inca administrative, religious, agricultural and military complex. Overnight at the hotel selected in Yucay. (L)
 

Day 02. Cuzco / Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu
Transfer by bus to railway station in Ollantaytambo, for a one- hour train ride to Aguas Calientes, allowing you to appreciate wonderful Andean landscapes, and later a thirty-minute bus ride, zigzagging the mountain ridge, to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Tour will include visits of the three great sectors: The Sacred District where you will visit the Intiwatana, the Temple of the Sun and the Moon, the Room of the Three Windows; the Popular District with its main plaza and mausoleum used for rites and sacrifices, and the District of Priests and Nobility. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes and overnight at hotel selected. (B)
 

Day 03. Aguas Calientes / Cuzco
Morning at leisure in Aguas Calientes village. Visit the local handicraft market, walk along a steep trail with stairs to the thermal springs on one side of the mountain or just return to the ruins for a second visit. The additional entrance fee is not included in the program (Approx. US$30). After lunch on your own, transfer to railway station for your return to Cusco by train/bus, where upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel selected for overnight. (B)
 

Day 04. Cuzco / Sacsayhuamán
Breakfast at hotel. Time to explore the city of Cusco on your own pace. In the afternoon, City tour of Cusco through narrow streets, fine colonial houses, temples, churches constructed on finely-worked Inca walls, visit the Cathedral of Cusco, the Temple of the Sun and to the nearby ruins at Sacsayhuamán Fortress, Kenko, Puca-Pucara and the Inca Bath at Tambomachay. Dinner at La Cava de San Rafael restaurant with folkloric dances (included). Return to hotel for overnight. (B, Dinner show)
 

Day 05. Cuzco / Lima
After breakfast, morning at leisure to enjoy the city then transfer to the airport. (B)
